"Orange Osage" 8x10, Oil on Gessobord by Dawn Waters Baker

"Orange Osage" 8x10, Oil on Gessobord

I went back to this old panel after years of it sitting here in my studio. I liked the light but hated the limbs. I wanted to soften some of them and leave it loose.
There is something poetic about tree limbs. They curl and curve in ways that sing, dance and play. It's almost as if tree limbs and leaves hold light for us. Especially at dawn and dusk.
