Independence Hall by Dawna Hasara

Independence Hall
11" X 14"
watercolor on paper

The Texas Independence Hall is located in Washington on the Brazos State Park in Washington County, northwest of Houston. On a sunny day, the shutters cast soft shadows against the warm blue-gray weathered siding while the rough cotton shades hang in the openings. I love this serene place.

This painting has just been awarded an honorable mention ribbon at the Watercolor Art Society-Houston's (WAS-H) April Monthly Exhibition themed "Texas". The WAS-H gallery situated in the museum district of downtown Houston is a wonderful free gallery whose mission is to promote watermedia art through education, outreach and monthly gallery shows. Anyone who appreciated watercolor paintings should be sure to visit WAS-H, details can be found at https://www.watercolorhouston.org/
