New Summer from the "Evolving Seasons" Series by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Evolving Seasons – Summer" ©2019 by Niki Gulley
48" x 36" textured oil painting
Part of a 48" x 144" quadriptych

I wanted to create a large horizontal quadriptych, or four piece painting, that would flow from one season to the next to show the beauty of the forest throughout the year. Working on such a large scale invites you to step right into the scene and take a walk through the woods, enjoying all of the peace and joy that nature has to offer.

Now in this second painting of summer, the leaves have completely filled out and the woods are loaded with dozens of shades of green in all of their glory. Yellow dandelions line the forest floor in a carpet of gold, signaling summer is in full bloom. Long days and shorter nights allow for more idle time to explore and get lost in the serenity of nature.
