These red irises were grown in my Mother in law's yard. She had a wide variety of hybrid irises and took great joy and pride in her garden. I took tons of photos of them and brought bulbs home for my own garden. The red ones never survived in my yard, but they live on now in my painting.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years.
