"G. H. Sluiceway", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel.

Back in my watercolor period I painted in this area once. It felt so much better creating this scene in oils today. The paint just seemed to flow right off my brushes. After Hurricane Irene yesterday, all the leave are beginning to show subtle browns and reds. The vibrant greens of summer have turned in the space of a day...
