Hillcountry Autumn

The earth colors of the Texas Hillcountry are unique. I was interested in painting these subdued colors with more intensity but wanted to capture the sweeping horizon as it recedes in subtle shades. The actual sky in the painting is a much livelier hue of violet. I liked the way the trees lean into the hill. Intersting lines.
