24" x 18" Palette Knife Painting

This painting has large chunks of color on the linen. I blocked in the paint with my palette knife, giving the tulips a very distorted look. The light was bright at the Arboretum when I took a photograph of a beautiful field of tulips. I zoned in on the colors and shapes, painting only what I saw....not what I thought I saw. I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.
