This is number 5 in my Cafe Series.  Before I knew that I was going to paint a series of cafe scenes, I was inspired to take this photo because of the bright sun and shadows.  It was a gorgeous Friday around 3:00. The sun was so bright on the umbrellas and pavement.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years.
