Polka-dot Roses Painting, Acrylic Abstract Floral Drip by Texas Artist Nancy Standlee

"Polka-dot Roses" 12061
36"x12"x2" acrylic mixed media on Ampersand Gessobord

I've been with about 20 other happy artists for a 4 day workshop in Granbury, TX at the LGAA with instructor artist, Carolyn Riegelman from Denton. The above painting is one of my favorites from several I finished at the workshop (some were starts from a previous workshop). My photography does not do this one justice as there is a lot of depth with the many layers of drips, splashes and graphic lines. The workshop title was "Acrylic/Texture Abstract" and we used some venetian plaster for our texture. I will post more photos and paintings from the workshop in the coming posts.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website
