This painting started out as an experiment with Halloween webbing and watercolor canvas. I liked the result but had no idea what else I would add to the picture. After several years I decided I needed to add a bird. The red cardinal seemed just the right touch.

I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it. I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.
