The paintings was done from a snapshot that I took on a Plein Aire outing at "Festival Hill" in Round Top, Texas, with a group of artist.  The first painting that I did very similar to this one, was a pastel, so I wanted to try it in oil.  This was a fun place, as it has lots of trees, a stream, concert hall and other buildings that I also painted from this trip.
