Windblown Blue Iris

Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

I'm supposed to be packing, I'm supposed to be resting for my big trip to my painting and art marketing workshop in the Texas Hill Country tomorrow, but I confess I'm having trouble tearing myself away from the easel. All these irises are calling my name! Yellows, blues, purples. Thank goodness for caffeine, that will be my friend when I'm driving to Fredericksburg.... Visit my art blog today for a tour of my iris garden, I can't believe all the color that has made an early appearance here. Tonight it will be in the 30s, I wonder how these will look tomorrow....

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

#mill,#water,#building,#11x14,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com This painting was part of a study.  We had the photo and I painted it then watched the demo. I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years. I don't care for the spring of a stretched canvas.  Thanks for viewing my art ~~Barbara Available  GALLERY INFO Barbara Haviland Fine Art 1579 County Road 1010 Woodville, Texas 75979 409-332-0141 Website

Central Fire Station Lake Charles, La Barbara Haviland

CENTRAL FIRE STATION LAKE CHARLES, LA #CentralFireStation,#HIstoric,#Building,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com Central Fire Station  no longer exists in  Lake Charles, La.  I had some old photos that I used to paint this painting.   24"x40"  and it is signed and framed, but you must come pick it up. I was told that the station burned down and they built another.
I haven’t posted here in a long time, partly because my artistic endeavors have taken a turn toward quilting instead of painting.   But this quilt started as a painting which I had printed on fabric and then turned it into a quilt.  So maybe I can slip it into the blog!  If you are interested in seeing more, let me know!
