This was a commissioned painting. My friend wanted me to paint a portrait of her late brother to give to his wife on her birthday. The photo was from 1955, I had a lot of help from a few Veterans to figure out the patches as the photo was not too clear. I worked from two photos to create the painting. It was one of the more difficult commissions I have done, but am honored that she asked me to take it on.
