Contemporary Floral Landscape

This small painting is drying in the studio...I was in the mood to paint a floral landscape. I started with a black acrylic base coat. Then sketched in my map for the painting with a filbert. Once I let that layer of paint dry, I pulled out a #10 bright and started layering the juicy oils. The flowers in the foreground are bold and colorful, and the eye wanders through the grassy field.
