New Maple Treetops Palette Knife Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

9" x 12" textured oil painting  ©2018 Niki Gulley

Painted on location, I was drawn to the striking reds and oranges of the maple treetops contrasted against the vivid turquoise sky. There was so much energy in the colors and the breeze blowing through the leaves, that I had to capture that feeling. Using diagonal strokes and a lot of paint with my palette knife, this piece is filled with joy, color and movement.
