This study is trees and angles.  Can you tell what I was trying to do?  Put in there  value changes to push things back and bring them forward.   This piece is 9"x12" and is done in oils.

The Old Mill Study, Barbara Haviland

I always do that.  I like to change my painting up a bit. It is painted on a hardboard panel that has canvas adhered to it.  I have used this method for years.
