Gun 16.5 x 22.5 inches Mixed Media Enc Caustic, Plaster Cast, Wooden Frame This is one of the pieces I have finished within the last week. It is a Plaster Cast Toy Pistol, embedded in an En Caustic back ground, with fabricated wooden frame. I am fascinated with Barnett Newman's Minimalist color and spacial structure. Although, it is not a minimalist piece, this was inspired by the color and composition of Newman's work. It is an attempt to step back and make it simple and pure, yet still playing with the idea of a symbolic nature. Finding simplicity and beauty in something that has duality to be violent, yet also a child's toy, something to have fun with.
