Fleeting Moments Hydrangeas by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Fleeting Moments Hydrangeas by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Linen Board Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Fleeting Moments Hydrangeas is a new take on an old painting, that got a bit of holiday polish this evening in Flower Mound Studio. I boosted the greens and added some purple and blue petals to a previously rather flat looking set of white hydrangeas. I also added some tiny black seeds to my watermelon, because, for some reason, black seeds just look better on a red watermelon than white seeds. The house is all clean and ready for Thanksgiving festivities next week, and I just got back from a visit to mom's house last night. She is doing well on her new medication for her breathing, and seemed really happy. She pulled a chair up to me at the kitchen table and put her arms around me and told me she "loved her Nan." Love Is Endless Hydrangea Garden by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Love Is Endless Hydrangea Garden by Nancy Medina 36X24 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Nancy Medina Web Site Love Is Endless Hydrangea Garden is the newest work in Flower Mound Studio, similar to another large hydrangea painting I finished yesterday evening. Hydrangeas tend to do well in Texas, with the exception of this recent, record breaking hot summer that just concluded. Maybe we'll be given a cool summer next year, with rain and breezes, to make up for this one, and my flowers will come back in full force.

Glass Jar Hydrangeas by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Glass Jar Hydrangeas by Nancy Medina 11X14 Oil on Canvas Panel Shop in My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Glass Jar Hydrangeas will probably be the last painting I can coax from this lovely bunch of hydrangeas I found at the grocery store two days ago. The flower selection in the stores has never been so thin, and today I even tried several other stores, and could find no more hydrangeas, and no sunflowers. Instead there were several varieties of roses, so it looks like I'll be spending time with roses for the next few days! Tomorrow I teach a class here in the studio and my assistants have promised to be on their best behavior. The boys will be locked up in the kitchen, however, since four pugs underfoot is a challenge even for the most intrepid of artistic souls. Carlos has made a wonderful homemade quiche for us, and cut up fresh watermelon, so lunch will be quite the occasion! I know I should be saying sage things about pain...
