Artists Of Texas Contemporary Paintings and Art

I could paint this model all day and sure am hoping she shows up again!  Very expressive, plus she holds a pose so well - just can't ask for more than that in a model.  Behind her was a figurative panel - I always like using these designs in the background.  This piece was done on 8 x 8" Multimedia pastel panel, using luscious Sennelier oil pastels - like working with lipstick.  To see more of my artwork, please click here  to visit my blog at my Hackberry Street Studio.                                                                HAPPY NEW YEAR1

On this piece, I used Multimedia Art Board, which is a new discovery for me.  I received a gift certificate from the company as part of my prize at an art show and I absolutely love this new to me support!  I drew this one from one of my many rodeo drawings - 6 x 8".  To see more of my artwork, please click  here  to visit my blog.

Always happy to work from the model, I tried not to make the drawing as scribbly as it usually is when I attend a group.  It's still pretty loose, though.  I used Sennelier oil pastels on Colourfix paper, 12 x 9".  To see more of my artwork, please click here to visit my blog at Hackberry Street Studio.

I visited this beautiful area a couple of years ago and have lots of sketches and photos from my visit.  It's a beautiful place and well worth a visit!  This oil pastel painting is on 6 x 12" Pastelbord.  To see more of my artwork, please click here to visit my blog at Hackberry Street Studio.

This quick drawing of Steffi was fun to do - of course, I always wish for more time.   It seems to work better, though, when I have to scramble to get the drawing done in a few minutes.  I did this on 9 x 12" oil pastel paper with Sennelier oil pastels.  Thanks for stopping by!

I just colored over the notan I did in the previous post and realized that I had not included some of the shadows in the original.  Oh well, a learning experience.  Years ago, I took a class in portrait painting in pastel in which we did the notan thing, but in color values - think I'll work with that method this week.  To see more of my artwork, please click to visit my blog, Hackberry Street Studio.
