Christmas Commission by Pamela Blaies

Commissioned Apple and Cherries oil on linen It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... The cold snap has really gotten things feeling like winter around here. Some of the neighborhoods around me have even started to put up Christmas decorations. I always like to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate and begin listening to holiday music, but I have started on a couple of Christmas commissions. Here is one I just finished this past week. Stay warm! I love to share my art and inspiration. Click  HERE  to sign up for my email newsletter and receive a free gift of postcards. Follow me on Facebook.

Rockabilly Oil on Cigarette Box 4 inches x 2 inches This a detail of a larger piece, Rockabilly.  It is an old recycled guitar, with one of my sugar skull Marlboro boxes incorporated.  The piece as a whole is 24 inches in height, and around 14 inches across, basically the shape of an acoustic guitar.  www.cfai.co/sunnykaymarler .  I wanted a sugar skull type painting that represents rock and roll and the Rockabilly life style.

Creamer, by Ann Hoffpauir

This is the second in a series of creamers. This one was given to me by my sister-in-law. She knows my favorite color is blue and thought I would like to have this little creamer. This is a 7"x5" painting. © Ann Hoffpauir

Sailing Class by Debbie Cannatella

SAILING CLASS 2"x2" Transparent Watercolor Miniature by Debbie Cannatella Corpus Christi, Tx (sold) Lately I have developed an interest in miniatures. I'm pretty rusty on these, because my preferred size is about 200% larger and this size is so new to me! But I am fascinated with the way miniatures draw the viewer in. I've only painted a half-dozen of these, but half have sold before I could get them framed. My gallery is waiting for me to get a large enough set completed to be able to hang them all for an opening.

Poppy painting by Niki Gulley

Poppy painting by Niki Gulley 5” x 7” I created this poppy study with palette knife and extremely thick paint to achieve texture and dimension. I love how the bright colors pop and brighten up any room, and how the strokes contain so much movement and energy. Pair with one of my other sunflower or poppy studies to hang in a series. To see these paintings in person, stop by my booth at Ann Arbor, MI’s Art Festival this week, a2statestreetartfair.com, or e-mail me at Niki@NikiGulley.com for more information. April Blooms

"April Blooms" ©2009 Niki Gulley 7" x 5" oil This little painting was inspired by last year's bluebonnets in Ennis. I almost thought I was looking at a lake from the distance and when we drove closer, the lake turned out to be thousands of wildflowers! I'll be displaying this piece and several others at the Daily Painters of Texas show at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, which starts today and continues through Nov. 30th. This is an amazing group of talented artists, and I am honored to be part of their show. I hope you can stop by the gallery this afternoon for the reception! Email me for more information.
