A Walk in Spain

8x6 oil on canvas painting by Julie Beth Wileman Spent a couple of days in Madrid last fall and walked through beautiful parks.  This small painting is from one of them.   It can be found on my website:  www.juliewileman.com

Casting Your Cares

6x9 oil on canvas painted by Julie Beth Wileman I primarily paint realism, but occasionally I like to play around with paints, let them dry and play some more until something touches me.  When I started pulling the cool blues and greens over the warm reds, oranges and golds I felt a sense of calming.  Hence the title, Casting Your Cares. This piece is Sold.   More of my work can be found at www.juliewileman.com

Grandson, portrait by Julie Beth Wileman

16x20 oil on canvas After having 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters we had a grandson!  Only his sister remains and I will have all 5 portraits on my bedroom wall!  Painting them is a joy and waking up to them makes every day.  Of course, as they grow up I wonder when I will need to paint them again!! www.juliewileman.com I take commissions!  Email me at jbwileman@gmail.com

Mother's Day

30x24 Oil on canvas I couldn't resist painting these sunflowers that I had for Mother's Day.   Popped them by a window to get some good light and shot some photos before they wilted.   www.juliewileman.com Thanks for looking!

Cactus by Julie Beth Wileman

9x12 oil on canvas panel Sold I love the color, shapes, prickliness (is that a word?) and scruffiness of cactus.  Just like an oak tree it speaks of Texas to me. I often slap leftover paint from several paintings on a canvas to build up some texture and color over time.  I used one of those canvases for this painting which added, I think, to the scruffiness and texture.  Here is the canvas I used with the cactus sketched out in charcoal: Looks like a mess, but it is fun to see the colors come through and to bring some order to the chaos! www.juliewileman.com

Winter Garden

9x12 oil on canvas panel Sometimes I just like to play with paint.  When I finish a painting I will use the leftover paint to experiment until a composition settles in and shows itself.  This one took a while, so it has lots of layers and textures. (see below)  Kinda fun! Thanks for looking! Can be purchased on my website or etsy shop: www.juliewileman.com www.etsy.com/shop/juliebethpaints

Wonder by Julie Beth Wileman

oil on linen 9x12 My youngest granddaughter discovering the wonders of the beach while on a visit to Spain.  We were fortunate to be invited to come along on the trip!  They live in Germany, so I cherish the times we get to be with them. Thank you for sharing the moment. www.juliewileman.com www.juliebethwileman.blogspot.com www.etsy.com/shop/juliebethpaints
