A few weeks ago, I was privileged to visit the Native American Indian Smithsonian Museum in Washington , D.C. - twice on our rather short vacation! There was so much to see and learn. The videos of interviewed native people were amazing; and my being able to view many of the outstanding items of clothing and costumes, worn by many different tribes hundreds of years ago, was awe-inspiring. Many were beautifully designed skins and fabrics with thousands of hand-sewn beads added in symbolic designed patterns. This Native American Indian portrait drawing was done in graphite, charcoals, and pastel pencils. He is protected under a 16"x 20" black mat, and protective plexi-film, ready to frame.
