"Sunshine on My Mind" ©2022 Niki Gulley 20" x 24" textured acrylic painting on canvas This sunflower field that I visited this summer was GORGEOUS. It felt like it stretched for miles. Bright, happy faces sharing their smiles with us and lifting our spirits. My heart literally swelled and I had to capture all of that joy on canvas.  Utilizing vivid, uplifting hues, thick paint and bold, loose strokes add to the happy, carefree feeling of the moment and I hope you are transported there with me.     “Sun's Glory II" ©2022 Niki Gulley 24" x 24" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas I wanted this piece to be uplifting and full of color and energy. The sun sets on the horizon, casting its beautiful glow across golden petals while perky, circular faces smile back at you. Magical light dances through the morning field, bringing sunshine and hope for the day to come. ••• E-mail  Niki Gulley  for more information on my sunflower and wildflower fields paintings.     "Planted Sunshine III" ©2021 Niki Gulley 10" x 20" textured mixed media painting on canvas panel This sunflower field that I visited this summer was beautiful. Miles of bright, happy faces sharing their smiles with us and lifting our spirits. My heart literally swelled and I had to capture all of that golden joy on canvas. Just after sunrise, big, billowy clouds drift by on the horizon and are illuminated with color from the rising sun. Utilizing thick paint and palette knives to create broad, energetic strokes and not over blending my marks adds emotion and abstraction for the viewer to fill in their own story.  E-mail  Niki Gulley  for more information on my sunflower and wildflower fields paintings.    "Planted Sunshine" ©2021 Niki Gulley 16" x 20" textured mixed media painting on canvas panel A fellow painter friend of mine and I arrived at this sunflower field very early in the morning to capture the sun as it was beginning to rise and illuminate the landscape with golden light. We set up next to the road so that we weren't infringing on the property. We had gotten about 45 minutes into our paintings and you know what happens with best laid plans! It turns out that the owner of the farm must not be a fan of painters because we were shooed away and threatened with fines if we didn't leave. So memorizing that gorgeous light while I was packing up, I finished the painting at home from my started sketch, photos, and memories.  If interested in purchasing or for more details on "Capturing the Sun II," please check out  https://www.nikigulley.com/capturing-the-sun/. ••• E-mail  Niki Gulley  for more information on my sunflower and wildflower field...
