Summertime

11x14 oil on canvas Since it is 108 degrees in Texas today, I guess you could say this was motivated by the summer heat!  Not to mention we have a bit of Sahara desert dust in the air as well!!   I have been working on several portrait commissions so working more loosely with colors I love is a nice distraction.   For sale and can be found at www.juliewileman.com! Thanks for looking!

Cool Creek

7x5 oil on linen panel The paint on my palate was beginning to get a bit old, so I thought I would do a couple of smaller studies to use it up.  Wanting to stay loose, I decided to stop before I overworked it.  This was a lovely cool shaded area of a creek in Sedona, Arizona.   Thanks for looking! www.juliewileman.com jbwileman@gmail.com I am happy to announce that I have 3 pieces in an upcoming show!  If you are in the area, check it out and see a lot of wonderful art! Maple Shade

9x12 oil on canvas panel With the spring schedule coming to an end I am having more time to spend in the studio.  Yay!  This piece has been a while in coming - a lot of reworking.  Also difficult to photograph and get the right colors to show.   I actually considered trashing it, but after polling my family it turns out this is their favorite of several recent paintings!  So, here it is! www.juliewileman.com jbwileman@gmail.com I am happy to announce that I have 3 pieces in an upcoming show!  If you are in the area, check it out and see a lot of wonderful art! Unexpected Joy!

11x14 oil on canvas A fun memory of when a couple of my granddaughters were young!   www.juliewileman.com jbwileman@gmail.com

Portrait of Amy by Julie Beth Wileman

9x12 oil on linen canvas Amy.  Spunky.  Fun.  Competitive.  Rapped with her father.  Loved squishy hugs from her mother.  Joyful.  Brave.  Beautiful. Ran into the arms of God Who Made Her with a nudge from brain cancer at age 12. Her mother and I grew up together.  I started painting 3 months after Amy died and ever since I have hoped that someday I might be able to paint her portrait.   Thank you for looking! www.juliewileman.com www.juliebethwileman,blogspot.com

Malakoff, Texas by Julie Beth Wileman

Munner's House 11x14 oil on linen canvas Munner and Pa raised my mother-in-law in this home that was built in the late 1880's in Malakoff.  Uncle Ireanus added on to it when she was 2 years old in 1920.  Cousin Don still lives there and commissioned this painting to give to his daughter.  Four generations!  The huge old pecan tree in front still produces loads of tiny native East Texas pecans every year.   Thanks for visiting! website:  juliewileman.com blog:  juliebethwileman.blogspot.com
