Artists Of Texas Contemporary Paintings and Art

The rain has done wonders for my garden lately! These were grown from seed. Art Therapy Post 11 Bluebonnets and Paintbrushes are blooming across the Texas landscape and I'm longing to get out and see them. Here is a taste of the next wave of wildflowers that will appear. Spring Blanket 24" x 18" | Acrylic on Panel Commonly called "Blanket Flowers" or "Indian Blankets" these say Texas to me more than the bluebonnets. Though beautiful, bluebonnets are short-lived and a bit finicky; needing a certain level of rainfall to be at their best. Blanket flowers appear after the bluebonnets and revel in the blistering Texas summer sun. They represent the hardiness of true Texans to me as they cover the rolling hills forming a blanket across the land.
