Dia de los Muertos, by Melissa A. Torres, 12x12 mixed media on canvas

This is my first Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) painting. My inspiration was a photo a friend of mine sent me. She dresses up every year. I used acrylics, glass beads, Mica paints, gel medium, and glitter. This painting has SOLD.  I plan on doing another, and who knows how many more. They seem to be pretty popular. It sold before it was even completely finished!!                                                        www.melissaatorresart.com                                                 www.facebook.com/MelissaA.TorresArt

"Evening Glow" by Leada Wood, Contemporary artist of Texas

Evening Glow by Leada Wood© www.leadawood.com/blog   www.leadawood.com I don't usually do landscaapes but thanks to Carol Nelson's workshop in Granbury there may be more in my future. She showed us a way to take the ordinary to another level by using mixed media and collage. That certainly hit a chord with me as I love mixing things up! I highly recommended her workshops, as Carol is always full of fun and new suprises! This painting is 11x14 and is for sale. Please contact me.

Tuscany II Modern Art Abstract Collage Mixed Media Acrylic Painting by Texas Contemporary Artist Filomena de Andrade Booth

Tuscany II 10"x10"x1.5" Mixed media on canvas Purchase Information I've never been to Italy but a trip through the Tuscan countryside is certainly on my bucket list.  I'll be sure to take my old Jansen History of Art college textbook so that I don't miss a single Michelangelo or Da Vinci! This painting is one of a series of four pieces that were inspired by the film "Under the Tuscan Sun".  Look carefully at the heavy impasto to see the little surprises that are imbedded in the paint.
