I tend to look at the ground while walking so I don’t trip and fall again. I seem to break bones easily these days! When I did stop one day and look up, the scene was breathtaking! I just stood there and took the time to stare at the leaves of many colors and the light dancing on and through them. In my walk through life I’ve learned that my answers to questions come from above and so I created this painting, “One Answer” to illustrate that there is but one answer to my questions and it is to look up and listen to the Creator of all. Many people respond to this painting because of the contrast of colors and it’s drama. I hope this painting will be a blessing to anyone that takes a moment to look at it and allows it to tell you it’s message.   Standing among the trees, watching the light find it's way through the branches, I was mesmerized by the view. I was surrounded by limbs that appeared to hold each other up. The large tree in front of me was the star but the neighboring trees played a part of the story, they were family and "Woven Together". No matter if we share DNA or not when we stand together and weather storms our lives are like woven fabric and provide shelter. Something to think about, maybe we aren't islands after all! 24"x18"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info.   Ok, I certainly took liberties when I painted these green trees with such vivid colors but I just had to! I was standing there and watched the sun's light bursting through the trees and just had to exaggerate the intensity of color in an effort to translate what I felt. There was such a peace and sense of security as the light bathed all in it's path in addition to an air of excitement as I sensed the moment was brief. I hope I captured that experience, a special time of day when all felt "right". Thank you for stopping to visit and I'd love to hear about your experiences observing the Light! 18"x18"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/SOLD Commissions welcome.   After walking along a trail for a while under the cover of heavy thick growth I came upon an open area that felt as if I had experienced a "Breakthrough" in my journey. The time walking in the shadows seemed long and so the moment I found an opening, a change in the Light, I was relieved to see I wasn't lost. Can you relate? I wonder, how many times in my life will I experience a breakthrough and will I respond with appreciation and gratitude? I hope I am always grateful! 20"x16"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. EXCITING NEWS!!   We are told we only get one chance at a first impression. Well, I was passing by this patch of trees and vegetation when I took a second look. I had to "Look Again" just because I didn't feel I gave the plants a fair chance to impress me with their beauty, their story. We all have a story and at first glance it might not seem attractive but look a second time and you might find a more colorful and delightful way to experience the view. This painting is my attempt to suggest that and I of course used a bit more color than is usually seen so maybe you will take a second look at the painting! This photo does not nearly express the intent of this painting so I will try to use words instead. I viewed these cows quietly grazing far off from the road and just stopped to imagine a few things. What if we could all just calmly go about our day being the best human possible without complaint, just partaking in what was in our surroundings and being at peace with what we had. I believe that might change a few things for the better and so stopping to look at this scene might give us a glimpse of what some might label "As It Should Be" . I tried to use a design and colors that would express a calm, a sense of peace, even if they were a bit exaggerated as I tend to do. My hope is that you pause for a moment to use your imagination and even enjoy the painting! Thanks for reading! 20"x20"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for more info. I'm always early for appointments. As I was standing around waiting for my day to begin the morning I saw this scene I was captivated by the strong sunlight on the back of the old building and as a result of the yellow glow on the building the shadows leaned towards purple. I did exaggerate the colors but I wanted to draw the viewer into the scene to suggest we look again at the simple shapes the light can reveal and to also realize that even the shadows have color and a story to tell. The shadows are just waiting for the Light to move over them to expose their beauty. Maybe you can discover some depth to an otherwise ordinary scene...so much to discover! I’ve always enjoyed looking through those books showcasing beautiful gardens that seem to invite a visitor to sit and enjoy the view. Those get the attention but not all gardens are that spectacular. I am often grateful for a bit of shade and some unusual plants that have survived on their own to surround my bench or even just my blanket on the ground. I treasure the moments I can spend outside surrounded by the simple beauty of nature. It’s these times I first express sincere gratitude to the Creator of the creations and then rest in the moment. Yes, it must be repeated, gratitude is the position I take as I “Approach the Garden”. Perhaps the garden can be anywhere and everywhere...for this I am grateful! 24"x36"x2" Mixed Media on Canvas/Available Click HERE for purchase info. What are these cows up to? As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a city girl and I just love getting out away from home, driving past the open fields and wondering about the cows that I see hanging around! Are they bored? Are they happy standing around? Do they ever worry about anything? When I saw this group of cows gathered together under the tree I imagined this was their meeting place to discuss and review what was going on in each of their lives. (Ok, yes, I’m projecting a human experience onto them but it is my imagination so it’s allowed!) While watching these three I just couldn’t stop with imagining a group of 4-legged women discussing a variety of everyday topics but instead began to think about “When Two Or More Gather” that if they are capable then maybe they are actually praying about something. I know this is quite a stretch but I wanted to share the moment with you. Isn’t it nice to get away from normal expected routines to stretch your imagination? Take a break and get...
