Beautiful Goodbye oil on linen 6" x 6" It's been awhile since I painted the figure, but I made up for it this week, painting 4 small figurative pieces. The inspiration for this one came from a vintage photo I found from around the early 1950s. I loved how the light came from behind her, throwing her face into shadow. I wanted emotion to rule in this painting and so I made my brushstrokes very expressive. Now I can't get the song "Beautiful Goodbye" by Maroon 5 out of my head! I love to share my art and inspiration. Click HERE to sign up for my email newsletter and receive a free gift of postcards. Follow me on Facebook

"Light of Grace", an angel painting in oils on a 16" x 20" x 1.50" wrapped canvas. Painting angels, or looking at other artist's angel work brings me an aura of such peace.I really enjoyed adding some texture and bright colors, then balancing it with the softness of the wings and a feather boa over her arm. Woman Mixed Media 48 x 33 inches A mixed media piece on being a woman, and the images that represent womanhood in history.

"Day Lilies" portrait of a young woman in her floppy garden hat, among her beloved day lilies. This sweet young lady was a joy to paint. Spring came so early this year. I'm not complaining about the early blooms, bird songs, green grass, and pleasant weather. I'm just worried about a hotter summer than I care to imagine, which would not be a good thing for Texas which is still suffering from the devastating drought of last summer. Lets pray the lilies bloom long, the birds stay full of song, and the rivers and lakes stay full of much craved rain fall. Thank you for reading my blog. Don’t I Know You? I had a blast painting this piece- looser than most of my work. Does she look like someone you know? Is she hiding her identity so she won't be followed? Or following someone she doesn't want to reveal herself to? Painted on gallery wrapped, stretched canvas- 10"x 20" x .5"-painted on sides so she can be hung unframed, or added to your favorite frame. She would make a great conversation piece for any room! Thanks for looking at my work.
