No Stone Unturned

12.25 x 18.5 watercolor painted recently using a small slanted palette knife. Except for a brief light value manganese blue sky laid in with 1.5" flat brush, there are no pencil lines nor brushmarks in this rocky landscape.  I did spritz with a water mister to make colors run and emphasized texure on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper. Total time was about 2 hours. Email me 1971ks@att.net for more information.

Sandstorm with Pumpjacks

22x30 watercolor of a stormy west Texas landscape with huge rolling clouds, dark cotton field foreground, and pumpjacks distant and near. For more information email me 1971ks@att.net .

Cactus Jack

12x9 watercolor drawn on the first, then finished yesterday. From my Tucson photo on the VA grounds, I was lucky to snap this lone rabbit guarding the saguaro. I did a limited palette underpainting of quinacridone gold, permanent rose, and blue, then did dry brush on the rest. Those old saguaros have holes throughout that birds nest in and other wildlife use as well.
