Oil on Canvas Panel 6x6 SOLD - Commissions welcome This painting was inspired by an email inquiry.  Someone had seen a painting I did in 2009 and was interested in a print.  Alas, I didn't know how to photograph my art correctly at that time--any prints would have a low resolution.  Seven years later though, with a DSLR camera,  one of my favorite subjects, and (hopefully) and bit of improvement in my painting techniques, this painting was born and I now have a new client in Connecticut.  Thank you, Internet! www.kristinekainer.com www.kristinekainer.blogspot.com

Red Poppy Field Lazy Susan 16-inch diameter Available On April 24-26, 2015, Georgetown, Texas will celebrate its annual Red Poppy Festival . Located on and around our historic downtown courthouse square, visitors enjoy food, arts, crafts, entertainment for three busy days.  In honor of the upcoming festivities this week, I painted a red poppy field Lazy Susan which may be viewed at the Framers Gallery (610 S. Main Street) in Georgetown.  Hopefully, it will find a new home either here in the Red Poppy Capital of Texas or somewhere else equally special! When my daughter  and I went to Canton, I took all kinds of photos, of old stuff sitting around. It was a blast!   I loved these old coffee pots.  I still remember my parents using one like these.  I painted the pots back in January, not having a clue what to do to the background. I put it up not even thinking about it until last night, when I went to bed, all of a sudden it came to me, to just put a bright color wall paper type back ground. It is so weird how that works. I was not even thinking about the painting, so when I got up this morning, I went out and looked through all my papers to see what kind of design I could come up with.  This bright color won out. It is done on 300lb hot press paper with watercolor. it will be 18x24 framed.  12.5x16.5 image size.
