A Glimpse Beyond The Brambles, France..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I just finished this one today. After painting so many small journal entries, I guess I needed to 'break loose' and do a large watercolor. This watercolor is on Arches Cold Pressed paper. 18" x 24" unframed $450 plus S/H Prints are also available through Fine Art America: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/a-glimpse-beyond-the-brambles-france-rae-andrews.html?newartwork=true                                                         Thanks for visiting.. Rooster by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Canvas Panel (Museum Grade) 6x6 Purchase Information Ten years ago, my family moved from the Washington, DC area to a farm in a rural part of Texas.  Of course, we wanted chickens.  Thrilled to learn that roosters are not necessary for eggs, we happily purchased a variety of young hens and soon began to enjoy the "fruits of their labor." One day, a friend of my husband's announced that he knew someone who had too many roosters.  Would we be willing to take one?  Halfheartedly, we said we might be interested.  A week or two passed.  Then, our lives changed.  Upon returning from a day of errands, we saw a newcomer among our flock--a scrawny, white leghorn rooster. This bird had issues.  It was mean.  And it didn't sleep.  The crowing began around 2 AM and lasted throughout the night -- ten minutes of the most maniacal screeching followed by twenty minutes of an uneasy quiet.  Then the peace would be broken again wi...

After the Rain, by Melissa A. Torres, 30x24x2 acrylic on cradled gessobord

This painting was inspired by a photo taken by a friend on her farm in Ohio. She was out on her evening walk. The road is actually gravel, but I felt like a dirt road with some mud puddles would be nice. To see more of my work please visit my website at  www.melissaatorresart.com . I post my work for sale at my  Etsy  shop. Follow me on  Facebook . Thank you for looking!

Deep in the Heart by Kristine Kainer

Oil 36x36 SOLD The barn and windmill are from my little farm in Schulenburg, Texas.  This kind of minimalist look is a definite departure for me; however, I am pleased with the results.   The title, "Deep in the Heart" is from the song, "Deep in the Heart of Texas" (duh!):   The prairie sky is wide and high Deep in the heart of Texas I've lived in this state for ten years and still don't know all the words (I am shocked that I haven't been sent packing!); yet, that phrase keeps popping into my head whenever I look at this painting.  I guess home IS where the heart is! website:   www.kristinekainer.com blog:   www.kristinekainer.blogspot.com

"Fried Egg" by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas 10x10x5/8 Available Fresh eggs from backyard chickens have spoiled me.  Their color, texture, and flavor are incomparable to store-bought cartons of questionable origin and ethics.  In honor of those hardworking hens, I have immortalized  one of their incredible gifts for my breakfast plate. Aermotor Windmill by Kristine Kainer

Oil on canvas 30x30 Available for purchase Welcome to farmlife! This old Aermotor windmill is located in front of my Schulenburg, Texas farmhouse and was used by my husband's grandparents to pump water from the well beneath it. We now have an electric well pump; but, the charm of this energy harvester remains. Perhaps, someday,  it can be placed in service again as one of the work horses of the farm.... "Bluebonnet Spring" by Vonnie Kohn, contemporary rural landscape

"Bluebonnet Spring" 16 x 20 Oil (sold) The state flower of Texas is the bluebonnet. In mid-late spring, these flowers grow in mass profusion in North and Central Texas. There are several regions that host designated tours just to see these fields of intense "cobalt blue" flowers. Many artists in our state focus in this genre only. I always delight to go to Fredericksburg during this time & paint these flowers in plein air. The German farm, the windmill and water tank, the bluebonnets are lacking in just one thing--cattle. Those were down the road and across the cattle guard. Although this painting is sold, there are others....please visit my website to enjoy. http://www.vonniekohn.com/
