Tatanka, the Native American Indian word for bison, or buffalo. Although many disagree that the buffalo and bison are the same, most people refer to both as "buffalo".Painted in oils on an 8" x 8"x 0.5" gallery wrapped stretched canvas-all sides painted. This wild life painting would make a great start for a small sized original collection! "Nebit". The name is of Egyptian origin, meaning leopard  . This portrait is painted in oils with lots of detail, making it exciting each time I added a layer or another stroke of paint. I am happy with my finished product, and pleased that you would read and blog and look at my work! If you'd like to see more or my work, or you are interest ed in purchasing this piece, please contact me at my personal blog: srcartavenue. blogspot.com or contact me at: sandrasart777@aol.com . I love taking commissions! The leopard is almost a shadow in the African jungle. He hunts and lives alone, usually bringing his kill high up a nearby tree to keep scavengers away. Sometimes his kill will weigh three times more than he does! Blessings, Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Racer" a zebra portrait in oils on a wrapped canvas. I photographed several zebras at the Baton Rouge Zoo, in Louisiana, including this one who came up for a closer look at me (or maybe my large camera). All sides are painted a dark hue, so there is no need for a frame. I just got word tonight that one of the zebras gave birth last week, so now I am planning another trip to Louisiana to see the newest member of the zebra family. I enjoyed painting this, and although my eyes wanted to blur a few times from the stripes, every stroke was fun,as I easily recalled their various personalities. Thank you for reading my blog and looking at my work. If you are interested in purchasing "Racer" or any of my other work, please visit my blog at: srcartavenue.blogspot.com or contact me at: sandrasart777@aol.com Blessings, Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Purr-fectly Content" is a beautiful tiger portrait painted on a 6" x 6" x 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. All sides are painted a dark hue, no need for framing. Doesn't this guy look purr-fectly content? His eyes look almost "kitten like", along with that soft, fluffy fur. Don't be fooled, as this big boy is fierce, strong, and a huge competitor among other wild animals. I adore and respect the great large cats, and hope the world will continue to comprehend the need to keep all species of endangered big cats alive and well for our future generations. Thank you for reading my blog and looking at my work. "Afternoon Delight" is a small (6" x 6") oil painting on a gallery wrapped canvas, all sides painted a dark hue. This painting was done from one of my many photos, taken at the Houston Zoo. Getting in close, I went for a shot that, once painted, would still convey the beauty of the duck's soft feathers, and its beautiful dark eye peeking out at me. I am sure it wasn't thrilled that I disturbed its delightful afternoon nap! Thank you for reading my blog and looking at my work. For more information on this painting, or other pieces of my work, please visit my personal blog at: srcartavenue.blogspot.com or contact me at: sandrasasart777@aol.com for any questions or comments. I am posting one of my favorite paintings that I created in oils with our wonderful bald eagle, along with the great American and Texas flags, because I want to make sure that everyone knows I am proud to be an American! Yes, and proud to be a Texan! We do have our many "flaws" in this country (and it seems the gap is widening from the freedoms I grew up knowing) but we are still a great nation- under GOD. Let's keep it that way. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America , unto the republic for which it stands, one nation, under GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. HAPPY FOURTH! LET FREEDOM RING!!!! Blessings, Sandra R Cutrer sandrasart777@aol.com srcartavenue.blogspot.com

SOLD! "Tiger in the Grass" was painted in oils on a 12"x12"x1.5" gallery wrapped stretched canvas (painted on all sides) with palette knives. This painting brings back sweet memories from a long time ago. Our only daughter, Michelle, loved her Little Golden Books, especially "Charlie in the Grass". Charlie was a cute yellow kitten who struck out on his own, meeting his animal neighbors. Charlie was a lot smaller than this tiger, but I have the feeling that Charlie thought he was just as brave. Thank you for looking at my work, and reading my blog.If you are interested in a print of this painting, or any of my other works, please contact me at sandrasart777@aol.com . "Nebit", meaning leopard in the Egyptian language. Nebit is a close-up detailed painting in oils on a 9" x 12" professional art board. What a beautiful wild cat the leopard is. Although they are usually very fearless animals, I hope I have captured a slight bit of fear, as leopards are considered to be close to extinction, and are listed as endangered large cats. There are over 20 subspecies of leopards. Eight sub- species are considered endangered, 4 on the verge of extinction. Thank you for looking at my work.
