Lighthouse and Houses, Barbara Haviland

LIGHTHOUSE AND HOUSES By Barbara Haviland on 2/6/2023 7:54:56 AM   -  Comment on this #lighthouse,#houses, #Cliff,#evergreenTrees,#BarbaraHavilandFineArt.com I like doing lighthouses and this is a small one done on a canvas panel that we make.  The inspiration came from doing and seeing many lighthouses.  We have traveled to many places and seen so many. I take photos and paint them.  I  hope this reminds you of a lighthouse you have seen.  The frame   comes with this one.

Tybee Island Light by Dawna Hasara

Tybee Island Light 12" H x 16" W Watercolor on paper A friend snapped a brilliant picture of this imposing lighthouse on Tybee Island, GA and gave me permission to attempt to capture it in watercolor. The bright high noon winter sunlight provides crisp red, white and blue colors in the sky, buildings and the snapping flag. Cast shadows from the large tree in the foreground add some drama.  Visit my website for more info or to contact me by clicking the title link.

Maine Lighthouse by Kristine Kainer

Maine Lighthouse Oil 16x20 Not for Sale* As a child of a US Marine, we moved frequently.  For two years, we were stationed at Brunswick Naval Air Station, Maine.  Nearby, in Cape Elizabeth, was this hauntingly beautiful lighthouse known as "Portland Head Light."  I've painted this as a gift for my mother as a reminder of our wonderful life near the sea.... *Prints are available www.kristinekainer.com www.kristinekainer.blogspot.com

Maine Light House by Jacquie McMullen

Maine Light House 5x7 pastel $100 framed and matted I have been working on a series of small 5x7 paintings, experimenting with different subject matter and color. This is a favorite of mine, my husband and I spent a week exploring the coast of Maine one year and I took this photo off the bow of a 3 masted schooner we had went out on. So beautiful in the fall of the year. Please contact me at jdmportraits@me.com if interested in purchasing. Visit my website at:  www.jacquiemcmullen.com

"Summer Light" - Thaw Malin iii

"Summer Light", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. The clouds I came here to paint moved too fast. So I waited for the sunset coloring to appear. It, too, was over in a rapid crescendo of oranges and lavenders… If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US.

Toward the Light - Thaw Malin iii

"Toward the Light", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Another drismal day from rain to fog to falling mist. I waited out the mist while sitting in my van watching the weather radar start to clear. At the last possible moment, gathering up my gear, I hiked down from a few hundred feet above sea level to zero. With a fisherman's sweater, parka and snow-pants, I was way overdressed for the hike down and had to peel off layers when I set up top of a large, 6 foot high boulder. It was flat calm, no air moving. I simmered in my remaining clothes as I frantically used up the 40 minutes until dark balancing my colors. The walk back up hill was swift and strenuous in the dark, raising my boots higher than normal upon each step so as not to trip on the now unseen rocks in the path... March Moon - Thaw Malin iii

"March Moon", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Today (actually 2 days ago) I knew the moon would be coming up a 1/2 hour before sunset. I just wasn't exactly sure where. I wanted to set up so that it would be very near the light, but I hadn't done my calculations. It also got lost rising behind the low cloud bank and was 10 minutes late. So I painted and just forgot about it as I got into a rhythm. It was suddenly there, pink at first blush from going through the purple clouds. Then it yellowed-oranged out into its full splendor... Split Rock Lighthouse, Two Harbors, MN by Martie Rains

Split Rock Lighthouse 12x9 oil on canvas www.martierains.com martierains@sbcglobal.net Facebook I'm sure Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior has been photographed or painted thousands of times, but it's still a fascinating view. I walked up and down several flights of stairs to shoot it from different angles. All of them looked good. You may purchase this painting by clicking here . Shipping is free in continental U.S. Layaway available.

Cloud Break - Thaw Malin iii

"Cloud Break", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. It felt like snow, but was just thick, tight clouds. I think they look denser in the winter air than in summer. When they leave, it really makes the sky brighten up in comparison... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. "Night Watch" by Kyle Wood

"Night Watch" - 18" x 24" - Oil on Canvas It has been mighty hot & dray all summer long here in Texas, so I have been painting water and coastal places that are cooler than it is here. Normally, I do not paint many seascapes, but they are fun and it provides a break from the norm. "Night Watch" is a made up imagery place, along the coast that could be anywhere in the world. Inspiration for the painting came from my lighthouse collection and some pictures that I took along the seawall in Galveston. I might add, that a limited palette of three colors (Yellow Ochre + Alizarin Crimson + Thalo Green (Windsor Green) plus Titanium Whiter were the only colors used to mix the different values. This palette of colors is something that I learned from Dalhart Windberg. Enjoy! To view more of my work, please visit www.kwoodfineart.com . Also I have work avaiable for sale through The Dutch Art Gallery. Here is the link to their site http://www.dutchart...

Candle Light - Thaw Malin iii

"Candle Light", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Rain was coming down and it was very late for me to start a painting before darkness came. It was already too dark due to the storm clouds. I was despairing and to cheer up my spirits I took a drive out to the lighthouse. What a treat to find it at this balance of light out and lights in... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. North of the Light - Thaw Malin iii

"North of the Light", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. I found this view last time I was painting the light house. I didn't factor in the wind and wind chill when I went two evenings ago. My friend Donald loaned me a bright yellow/green rain slicker to announce myself properly to any hunters about. He was especially concerned as he spotted a buck with a good rack creeping away from me as I entered the underbrush. I found my spot, set up and started right in only to have my easel fall into me as I bent over to clean a brush. Fixing that, I went on working until the gusts came in again. I lasted about an hour before light and breeze had me wanting to go home. Wind chill was in the low 20º's and I had a bit of a time following my path back thru the underbrush in the low light of the afterglow. But, like always, it was a fun outing just to experience the air and evening light... If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my A...

Light On The Backside - Thaw Malin iii

"Light On The Backside", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. A sweet afternoon of warm sun and breeze until the light air turned into wind and the sun, shadow. Upon reaching the van I found I was wearing 2 shirts, a fleece, a vest and windbreaker. But I was happy to have caught this image early, in the warmth of the day. I probably never would have considered this view if it had not been for the tumbling shadows on the hill side... Shadows Cast - Thaw Malin iii

"Shadows Cast", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. A fun painting was this. The day was gray when I started. Past the halfway finished point, the sun broke in with evening warmth. I had to walk down the street a bit and mentally regroup to be able to come back and repaint with this delicious light. Life changes and when you are ready, you may, too. If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. Subscribe to my "New Paintings" mailing list.
