"Up The Steps" by Kyle Wood 5" x 6.25" Oil on Canvas Paper This is an old Victorian house in Waxahachie, Texas. I had painted a similar piece a few years ago on a plein air paint-out, but decided to revisit the subject. Working from digital photos, I painted this piece over the weekend. Instead of painting the whole house, I used my view catcher to find an area that would have the most appeal. When using a view catcher, I look for areas that have a good balance of darks, lights, mid values. The view catcher is also handy in doing plein air work. Enjoy!
