Artists Of Texas Contemporary Paintings and Art

"Garden Glory" ©2022 Niki Gulley 24" x 20" Textured oil painting on 1" Cradled Board with the painting continuing around the edges  After several months of 90 to 100 degree temperatures, I have been relishing the cool mornings and highs in the 80s. Once more my backyard was calling me to set up my easel and capture all of our hard-earned efforts. My hours of weeding, watering, pruning and planting all paid off and I have thoroughly enjoyed our colorful bounty of blooms! From beautiful, tangled Russian sage, to vibrant red and yellow cannas, to cheerful sunflowers that blossomed all summer long, our garden's symphony lifted our spirits daily.  For more details on my palette knife floral paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley.   "Garden Glory" ©2020 Niki Gulley 24" x 20" Textured oil painting on 1" Cradled Board with the painting continuing around the edges   There is something about getting up early and painting a lush landscape covered in flowers to help beat the heat during those brutal Texas summers. It is especially nice when you can walk out your backdoor and enjoy the stunning colors from you hours of hard work in the garden.   For more details on "Garden Glory" and my other palette knife floral paintings, please e-mail  Niki Gulley. Garden Entrance 20x16 oil on canvas My garden continues to inspire new paintings.  It is still blooming brilliant flowers with color bursting out. Being in the quiet of the garden is a happy place.  I created a small study before attempting this larger version. It really helps with color and design.  Where flowers bloom so do hope and happiness. To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. Fenced Blue Iris by Nancy Medina 16X12 Oil on Panel SOLD Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Fenced Blue Irises is another new work in Flower Mound Studio, based on the cottage gardens of Coronado, California. I love infusing a bit of mystery into my gardens, leaving the greens in the background unfinished in some respects, inviting the viewer to fill in the blanks with their imagination.  If I were on this path, I would love to end up at a small wood frame home with a white wicker swing on the front porch, a perfect respite from busy suburbia, with windows open to a breeze and some happy little critters there to greet me. Where does this path take you? Grab some flowers along the way, we can put them in water on the kitchen table when you arrive.

I painted this in my garden a couple of days ago before winter finally hit Houston. I painted a larger garden painting a few days before that and I wanted paint again out in the garden. How lovely it was to spend time in the garden, the roses even smelled good. Now this is how I like to spend time in my garden - with a paintbrush in my hand instead of a shovel. This 6"x8" oil on canvas is $95 plus shipping. Please visit my website for more of my work: http://www.joanbreckwoldt.com/ www.joanbreckwoldt.blogspot.com
