HAUNTED by Debbie Cannatella 26"x40" transparent watercolor (34"x48" FR) As a child I wanted a spider monkey for a pet and my mom would answer "I'd rather have a horse in the house", but my interest in monkeys never stopped and one can always find me at the monkey exhibit when visiting a zoo. This guy was at a zoo in St. Paul and was scratching and fidgeting the entire time I photographed him. Suddenly he turned and looked dead-on with this haunted expression and a connection was made. This is one of a series of wildlife paintings that will be in a new one-woman solo exhibition "The Natural World" in the Kuchera Gallery at the Art Center of Corpus Christi, Texas for the month of November 2013.
