"Old Soul," by Melissa A. Torres, 11x14 oil on canvas

The Gift of the Tree~ Lenore Hetrick Trees offer to those who love them a message of peace and rest.  They bring the glow of the setting sun as it vanishes in the west.  T hey tell of the years that swiftly pass, with little mark or scar. They tell of evenings that know naught but calm of evening star.  Trees offer to those who love them infinite wisdom and grace.  Underneath their boughs tree lovers see eternity's face. This tree stands in Fredericksburg, TX at Fort Martin Scott. If you'd like to read about it, here is the link. Early to Rise Pink and Red Poppies of the Texas Hill Country by Nancy Medina

Early to Rise Pink and Red Poppies by Nancy Medina 11X14 Oil on Museum Quality Linen Panel Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site  Follow Me on Facebook Early to Rise Pink and Red Poppies is the newest daily painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I begin work on a large Texas landscape for a beautiful Flower Mound home. These poppies are based on the field of tossing and turning blossoms at Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, Texas last week. The wind never rested while I snapped photos as quickly as I could - one must tread carefully when photographing outdoor flowers in Texas, watching especially for fire ants! Happily, I was not attacked by the awful little beasties during this photoshoot. Like a big flower game hunter, I carried home hundreds of new flower photos, much preferred over hundreds of new ant bites...

Dream Seeker Stargazers and Hill Country Wildflowers by Nancy Medina

Dream Seeker Stargazers by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Archival Panel Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Dream Seeker Stargazers was my class demonstration Sunday morning for my Texas Hill Country workshop. Fueled with an amazing fresh flower selection from the local HEB grocery store, the biggest cheese kolache danishes you've ever seen, and a nice hot cuppa tea, the ladies and I painted flowers in bright colors on transparent backgrounds, pushing the limits of just how loose, and just how intense we could make color! I had five Lindas registered for class, at first I thought I'd never be able to remember who was who, but it was quite easy actually, although each time I said "Linda" every Linda in the classroom thought I was calling her name. Stay tuned to my art blog for new flower photos from class this week! Now that I'm back in Flower Mound Studio with the fatties, I'm tryin...

Friendly In Fredericksburg by Kay Wyne

Friendly In Fredericksburg 18" x 24" Oil on Canvas On a recent Hill Country trip, John and I stayed in Fredericksburg for five days.  We were staying at a cute B & B in town, and every morning we heard a rooster crowing.  After the second morning, I took off with my camera and found this beautiful Rhode Island Red and his owner....who kindly allowed me to take some pictures in his backyard.  This rooster was colorful, friendly, fast and loud.  Here is a photo of the rooster and hens...right in the city limits of Fredericksburg! Thanks for looking at the art here on this blog.  If you are interested in "Friendly In Fredericksburg" please contact me.  He will look great all framed up!  Kay at 214-532-0325 or kay@kwyne.com.

Take a peek at my art blog to see the latest 36X48 container garden blooming in the studio . My favorite Coronado Island, California gallery called with a request for a painting with reds, whites, and yellows, terra cotta pots and some woven basket pots. I'm hoping to finish this up tomorrow because - oh yes! I have to pack for my art show on July 6 in Fredericksburg, Texas! I sure hope to see you at The Good Art Company Gallery Friday night if you are in the Hill Country. Stop by and say howdy and eat some snacks with me and let's talk art!

Tea Time White Rose by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Tea Time White Rose by Nancy Medina 8X10 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Tea Time White Rose is the Newest painting in the studio, as I begin work on a container garden for my favorite Coronado CA gallery , begin packing for my 3-day workshop in Fredericksburg, Texas , next weekend, and finish framing new paintings for my solo show at The Good Art Company Gallery Friday night .  All these sound like pressing issues, but truly the most important Saturday task has been throwing the new ice cream cone toy for Studio Director AnnieBee. The pictures on my art blog were taken of her majesty as she stationed herself strategically in front of my easel at least a dozen times today, in exactly this pose. I know dogs cannot talk, but I am definitely getting a sense of her message.

Summer Tapestry White Roses by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Summer Tapestry White Roses by Nancy Medina 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Summer Tapestry White Roses is a new small study in Flower Mound Studio, as I prepare to do a 30X40 painting of an outdoor white rose garden. The more I paint, the more I am becoming a strong believer in good energy, and surrounding yourself with the things in life you love, shedding toxic things, toxic influences. My studio has become a bit of a sacred space, and I am very sensitive to that and try hard to always keep it that way. I shared these thoughts with my class in Irving, Texas, last week, and one of the students agreed enthusiastically, saying that she has incorporated those same thoughts into her life since her battle with breast cancer. She had just had her reconstruction surgery and looked amazing, healthy, and full of life. Wherever your sacred space is in your home, or even if it is in your garden, kee...

A Sunflower Workshop Surprise by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Reach Out Sunflower Solo by Nancy Medina 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Painting Flowers in the Texas Hill Country, July 6-8 Reach Out Sunflower Solo was one of several demos I completed at my Summer Saturday Sunflower Workshop this past weekend. What a great day to spend with students who shared my unabashed and unashamed and just a bit over the top infatuation with sunflowers! I mean, okay, one of us even admitted she has sunflowers painted on my her kitchen door! In the midst of all these sunflower confessions and before painting commenced and yellow paint began to fly hither and yon, we enjoyed a SURPRISE sunflower bundt cake - lemon with creme cheese icing! This delish concoction for my students was the idea of the hubby, who was on hand to help us set up tables and the indispensable Keurig coffee machine. (Note - the bumblebees on top were cardboard cutouts. No real bumblebees we...

Little Lovelies, Pansies by Nancy Medina

Little Lovelies, Pansies by Nancy Medina 6X8 Oil on Linen Board Buy Now My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Little Lovelies is a fresh pot of pansies drying on the easel this evening. I'm busy packing, framing and labeling a new load of art to take to The Good Art Company gallery in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, in a few weeks. I've enjoyed being a member of the gallery family for over a year now. It's always a fun trip to head down to the hill country, pack up AnnieBee the pug for the trip , stay at a fun bed and breakfast, and stop by Rather Sweet in the morning for warm cheese danish with raspberries. The best time to visit is Christmas, every little antique store, and the quilt shop, and the German restaurants, deck out in their finest holiday attire! I will share the whole thing with you through a photo journey on my art blog, so stay tuned!

Hill Country Ranch Road by Emily Leland

A few days ago, early one morning, I drove this ranch road West of Fredericksburg. One of the highest spots in the county, the views were great, but this winding road with thistles blooming at the height of the road, captured me. You know there are a few bumps on this one!
