Sweet Temptations Sunflowers and Daisies by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Sweet Temptations Sunflowers & Daisies by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Linen Board Shop in My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Sweet Temptations Sunflowers may look familiar - it is based on many of the same studio stars who posed for me last night. My models are starting to fade, drooping here, sagging there, needing an injection of some plumping formulas in certain areas. My mind is traveling down this road because I had to make a dermatology appointment today. A little mole on my temple has changed and so it's time for the doctor to take a peek. The last time I saw her she tried to talk me into some magical injections for my lips, and some excellent rejuvenating elixirs for the areas around my eyes. Something tells me that moles are losing their fascination for her.

Heart's Garden Sunflowers and Plums by Nancy Medina

Heart's Garden Sunflowers by Nancy Medina 16X20 Oil on Linen Board My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog Heart's Garden Sunflowers and Plums is the newest still life painting in Flower Mound Studio, as I pack up my favorite paints and brushes for a flight across the country. In a few days, I'll be painting in the garden of the oldest gallery on Coronado Island, in Southern California. Each year is an amazing retreat and delight, in a place where the sun is almost always shining. I will be sharing a photo tour of the garden island with you as soon as I return. With the help of the gallery staff, I was able to find a great room in one of the best hotels on the island! It is such a pleasure to be invited each year to paint during the Flower Festival on the island by Jill, the owner of Art and Frames by Wood Gallery. I hope to see you there. J'taime Sunflower Bouquet by Nancy Medina

J'taime Sunflower Bouquet by Nancy Medina 11X14 Palette Knife Oil on Linen Board My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog J'taime Sunflowers is based on the same sunny bouquet from my blog post yesterday . I went a bit thicker with the color to celebrate the lovely orange hearts and broke out my beloved palette knife to lay in yellow petal tips and the bits of purple-white sky. It was important to get these nice warm colors in, to stave of the winter storm that is heading our way at midnight! Perhaps a fortress of blossoms will keep out the cold, though something tells me the pugs have the better plan, all piled together on a pillow in front of the footheater.

You Are My Sunshine Sunflowers by Nancy Medina

You Are My Sunshine Sunflowers 8X10 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas My Daily Painters Gallery Nancy Medina Web Site Nancy Medina Art Blog You Are My Sunshine Sunflowers is a bright new work keeping the studio warm today while the fattyhelpers lounge in front of their fancy new footheater. Studio Director AnnieBee joined Carlos and I for a trip to East Texas to mom's organic farm last week, and I was absolutely thrilled to see a Pileated Woodpecker while standing in her back yard one afternoon. This red headed fellow was huge! He was as big as a crow, and even as big as AnnieBee herself! He spent the entire time hanging upside down on a giant old oak tree pecking away at something delicious, before flying off toward the neighbor's Emu farm. Check my art blog to see a photo of the woodpecker.
