Butterfly Iris Garden  by Nancy Medina 16X12 Oil on Archival Panel Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Follow Me on Facebook Butterfly Iris Garden is a scene from my garden last spring, and a wish for these flowers to hurry up and bloom again! We splurged last summer and had iris and hydrangea gardens installed along the shady side of the yard, and the bulbs we purchased in the spring from Argyle Acres Iris Garden are a mixture of colors and types. Some of these lovelies are double bloomers, meaning we had irises both in the spring and the fall last year. I'll be teaching a landscape class in Mesquite, Texas on Friday, so I've been going through my library of floral photos to find just the right theme for my students. I'm loving the tulips of the Dallas Arboretum from 2012, but we may end up with irises on our easels!

White Lace Irises by Nancy Medina 16X12 Oil on Panel Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site White Lace Irises is the newest painting in the studio, to celebrate more new irises about to open in my garden. These double bloomers are doing well, two years after planting. It took a nice, cool summer to give them the flower juice to make a second appearance. I'm ready for a nice, cool fall and winter to start, following a trip to chilly Denver last week. The hubby took a panorama picture while we were having breakfast at Crepe Le Crepe downtown. It's amazing what you can do with an IPhone!
