Fairytale Pumpkin by Kristine Kainer

Copyright Kristine Kainer 2014 6x6 Oil on Canvas Purchase Information "They's something kind o' harty-like about the atmusfere When the heat of summer's over and the coolin' fall is here -- Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees, And the mumble of the hummin'-birds and buzzin' of the bees; But the air's so appetizin', and the landscape through the haze Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days Is a pictur' that no painter has the colorin' to mock -- When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock."                                                                                                --James Whitcomb Riley Available Paintings:   eBay Etsy Website Fine Art America ...

Australian Blue Pumpkin by Kristine Kainer

Copyright Kristine Kainer 2014 6x6 Oil on Canvas Purchase Information "When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock, And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin' turkey-cock, And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,  And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;  O, it's then's the times a feller is a-feelin' at his best,  With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest, As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock, When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock." --James Whitcomb Riley Available Paintings:   eBay Etsy Website Fine Art America Prints #texasartist #harvestart #autumnart Kristine Kainer AOT, AWA KristineKainer.com Gallery Links: UGallery Framer's Gallery

Afternoon Shadows pastel by Niki Gulley

“Afternoon Shadows” Gilson Park, Chicago, IL ©2010 Niki Gulley Pastel • 10” x 8” I used to love going for a Sunday drive with my family when I was a kid. Sometimes we’d head to this park, which ran along Lake Michigan on a perfect autumn afternoon. We’d park and walk along the beach until we got to where the boats were docked, and then we’d wander onto the Bahaii Temple, with its amazing architecture and intricate carved ivory details, before we’d double back. In Afternoon Shadows, I wanted to depict a beautiful autumn day when the leaves are turning, there’s a slight chill in the air, the afternoon sun is casting mysterious long shadows and you can just make out the top of the temple in the distance, all while reminiscing about a simpler time and place. To see “Afternoon Shadows” in person, stop by my booth at the Oakbrook Fine Art Invitational this weekend in Oakbrook, II. Autumn Oil Painting by Niki Gulley

12" x 12" oil painting by Niki Gulley In this piece I wanted you to be able to feel the breeze rustling through the aspen and maple leaves on a beautiful crisp autumn day. I've created a sense of texture in the aspen trunks, too, by working with extremely thick paint and a palette knife.
