Heritage Village Sheep by Kay Wyne - Sold

Heritage Village Sheep 9" x 12" Oil on Linen Sold! This small painting of a sheep at Heritage Village in Dallas sold yesterday, and has a new home in Frisco, Texas.  It is always great to meet new collectors, and see their reactions and responses to my art.  Thanks to Patty and Dennis for visiting me at the studio, and  for giving this guy a new home.  I am off to a workshop for three days, and looking forward to meeting new artists and learning some new techniques for my painting.  Thanks for looking at this blog...contact  Kay  for more information on my art.  Kay

Waiting by Kay Wyne

Waiting 8" x 10" Oil on Linen This sweet little lamb was standing at Heritage Village in downtown Dallas. There were four or five lambs standing in the fenced-in lot staring at the people and cars...as if they were waiting on something or someone. They had a statuesque quality about them.  I did not use a painting medium, so the oils are thick on the linen, giving it some texture.  It will take a while for this one to dry.  If you are interested in purchasing this painting, contact Kay at kay@kwyne.com.  Thanks for viewing....Happy Fourth of July!  KMW

"Tea Lane Sheep" - Thaw Malin iii

"Tea Lane Sheep", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Ownership of this farm has just passed from an old island family to a young farmer and a land-lease to a young farming family. Until last week the barn was half hidden by a large stand of bamboo. The foreground field, idle and uncultivated the past few years, will be transformed by the sheep, and later cattle, from this beautiful meadow of Little Bluestem grass to a more traditional greener, grazing pasture. I feel lucky to have painted this now, as it will probably not have the wonderful, winter orange of Little Bluestem again… The value of this work of art is $550 USD, but, as my gift to you, for the 7 days of the auction each piece is in from the day it is created, you may start bidding at $100 (before the price becomes $550)… This is my way of saying thank you for enjoying my work and keeping me creating new ones almost everyday. Your interest stimulates and inspires me ...

Rocky Mountain Warrior by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

Rocky Mountain Warrior, a longhorn sheep, or ram, painted in oils on an 11” x 14” artist board. I love painting close-up head shots of animals, especially wild and endangered ones. Challenging at times, I put all that I can into my animals so my viewers and collectors can see their coats as they appear in the wild; whether coarse, or soft, maybe with some wild curls, thickness, etc., making them realistic, yet keeping with my painterly style. Thanks for looking at my work. For prices and other information on this original work, and others, please visit my blog at: srcartavenue.blogspot.com.or contact me at sandrasart777@aol.com . October Moon Rise - Thaw Malin iii

"October Moon Rise", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Out in the cool evening with many layers on and too many clouds overhead, the sun popped out to illuminate the scene. After 20 minutes of fast brushwork, the moon appeared above the cloud bank. It was just in time, before the sun was buried in the western horizon... Growing Sweaters - Thaw Malin iii

"Growing Sweaters", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. This was a beautiful partly sunny, partly overcast day. Some of the overcast parts were dropping rain and yet the sunshine was on either side of the cloud banks. This enhanced the drama of the day... In This Corner - Thaw Malin iii

"In This Corner", this is a small painting, 6" x 8", oil on canvas panel. Sheep are funny animals. I found this flock in a painter friend's field, happily munching away. I set up my easel and started to work. One sheep looked over at me and immediately started to trot down the path into the next field. Bam! Suddenly a line formed out of nowhere as they all started to head out and away from me...! If you'd like to purchase, please click Go to my Auction, bidding starts at $100.00 US. City Sheep by Kay Wyne

City Sheep Oil on 18" x 18" Gallery Wrap Canvas This painting is still now finished. I was driving to the studio a last spring, and in the middle of downtown Dallas is Old City Park...a little village of old buildings and some animals. I was driving, minding my own business and this one sheep was just standing there looking at me...staring at me. I pulled over and took some pics of him. (All of the other goats and sheep ignored me.) So the title of this is City Sheep. This is a fun, wacky animal that was so much fun to paint. I look for him every time I drive to the studio. Pastoral Scene by Kay Wyne

This painting has a new home in Illinois....this image is a little different from many of my paintings....I toned the color down. It is peaceful. Not alot of movement. I wanted the viewer to imagine that he or she is out on the Texas landscape...far from the city or the hussle and bussle of anyone. The grazing sheep are images that don't have alot of detail because they are small compared to the vast landscape. The canvas has big, open sky on the painting, so I am sure that some people could imagine this being in Montana or somewhere out west. (At least west of Dallas.) My inspiration for this painting was an old photograph out of an album....I really don't know where the pic was taken, and I added the sheep for interest. I have painted three paintings with sheep, and hope to do more. Thanks for viewing this blog, and I will be painting at the studio today and hope to post the rooster that I started yesterday. Dallas is in for more snow and bad weather, so I hope that I can get...
