"Joyous Evening" by Kyle Wood

"Joyous Evening" by Kyle Wood 2.5" x 3.5" Oil on Canvas Here is a recent miniature oil painting of mine.  I enjoy painting in the miniature format, because there quick and take less time to complete.  Often, I will do miniature painting first to get the design and colors worked out, before proceeding to a larger painting. The smaller thumbnail painting helps me see, if the design/layout will work on a larger scale.  Enjoy! To see more miniatures and other works, please visit me at:  www.kwoodfineart.com . Also, I handful of this gems available for sale through The Dutch Art Gallery.

"Hill Country Treasures" by Kyle Wood

SOLD "Hill Country Treasures" by Kyle Wood 11" x 14" Oil on Canvas What a great day I had at The Dutch Art Gallery on Saturday, May 18th!  I was scheduled to do a oil painting demo and had no idea what kind of traffic we were going to have.  Luck would have it, that a true value hardware store in the same shopping center as the Gallery was having a grand opening celebration.  The parking lot was jamb with cars and we managed to draw in some first time visitors to the Gallery. This painting was placed in a silent auction and was sold to the highest bidder.  Also, I managed to sell five other paintings of mine.  Two of them were miniatures that I had brought in and they sold fairly quickly.  Those who came into the gallery, got to watch me paint and I received many compliments on my work. Overall, it was quite an eventful, a rare treat to sell multiple works in one day! To see more of my work, please visit my website at www.kwoodfineart.com...

"Spring Radiance" by Kyle Wood

"Spring Radiance" 40" x 52" Oil on Gallery Wrap Panels Commission Piece Here is my latest oil painting that I have been working on for several weeks now.  This is a piece that I was commissioned to do for a client through The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.  The client loved the colors in one of my existing pieces at the gallery and wanted me to paint a larger painting. We both met and talked and decided to paint a triptych on gallery wrap panels.  Before finalizing the design, I did a couple of sketches and few color studies (One in Spring Colors and the other in Fall).  The client liked the Spring Colors, so this is what we ended up painting!  Overall, the painting was fun and it was great experience getting to do a commission.  Enjoy! "Whispering Evening" by Kyle Wood

"Whispering Evening" - 16" x 20" Oil on Canvas "Whispering Evening" is similar to another painting that I did about a year ago called "Whispering Night". Here, I chose to do a sunset in lieu of a moonlight painting. Very rugged hill country terrain is evident with all the rocks and exposed limestone on the bluffs. Spring is also in fashion, with the aroma of Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes dotting all along the banks of a refreshing, and peaceful stream. This painting is available for purchase. If interested, please email me at kwoodtexasart@yahoo.com for pricing. I also have more painting and other blogs on my website at www.kwoodfineart.com . My paintings are also available for purchase through The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas. For more information on paintings available through the gallery, please visit www.dutchartusa.com . Thanks and Have a Wonderful Day!

"Evening Melody" by Kyle Wood

"Evening Melody" 11" x 14" Oil on Canvas Here is my latest oil painting on my easel. I titled this one "Evening Melody" because of the rhythmatic pattern that is going on in the sky and ground. It seams as though one is playing the melody of a song, while the other is harmonizing. Both are required in order for the song to be full and complete. For this painting, I chose to paint a familiar subject of mine, but with a little more drama and mood. I wanted play with the color to see where it would take me. I love how mixture of the warm red Indian Paintbrushes radiate against cool Bluebonnets and green grasses in the foreground. Even the sky is dramatic with rich lavenders, pinks, and oranges against the soft blue sky peaking out behind the clouds. Complimentary colors (red & green, blue and orange) were used to create unity and harmony throughout the painting. Overall, it was a fun painting and look forward to painting other variations that play with c...

"Mission San Juan" by Kyle Wood

"Mission San Juan" - 12" x 16" Oil on Canvas Here is my interpretation of Mission San Juan, one of the five missions located along the San Antonio River in San Antonio, Texas. Painting is based on photos that I took while I was there. I combined my interest in historical architecture with my passion for Texas Wildflowers, especially our state flower - The Bluebonnet. Yuccas and other types of vegetation were added to painting for interest and variety, which are very common in this region of Texas. This painting is available for sale. If interested in purchasing, please contact me at kwoodtexasart@yahoo.com . To see more work, please visit my website at www.kwoodfineart.com Enjoy and have a wonderful day!
