Eyes to the Future, Pastel, 24x18. I chose the title to symbolize what I would hope for these 2 boys from the Samburu people of the Maasai Mara area of Kenya. The Samburu and the Maasai inspired a series of paintings, with the orange ochre of their life sharply contrasting with the equator sun and the harshness of their surroundings. Eyes to the future is a stand-alone left panel of a triptych. Great stories and photos of the Kenya trip on my blog And the rest of my paintings at carolynhancock.com
