Sewing Supplies by Kristine Kainer

Oil on Canvas Panel (Museum Grade) 6x6 Purchase Information These wooden spools belonged to my mom. I was surprised she still had some in her old sewing cabinet by her Singer. I think they are beautiful--much more charming than the hideous, cheap spools that are now sold. I also loved the price etched into one of them: 60 cents for 275 yards. Wow, those were the days! www.kristinekainer.com www.kristinekainer.blogspot.com

KRISTINE KAINER: Needle and Threads, No. 2

Oil on cradled panel, 6x6--SOLD This was a commissioned piece that I just completed. For an added touch, I put the 4-digit birthday of the client's friend (who will be gifted this piece) as the shade number. Never be afraid, when ordering a commission, to request small personalizations such as this. Maybe I speak for myself, but I bet most artists would be pleased to "go the extra mile" for their clients. I'm looking forward to more such requests.... Needle and Threads

Oil on canvas panel, 6x6-- View eBay Auction (Bids start at $99) This is one creative outlet I haven't been able to conquer--sewing. I even have a sewing machine (a gift from Mom ten years ago) and still can't figure out how to deal with a bobbin. I can attach buttons, but have resorted to using a stapler for fallen hemlines. Pathetic. Website: www.kkartstudios.com Blog: www.kristinekainer.blogspot.com E-mail: kristine@kkartstudios.com
