SPRING FLING BY ARTIST PAT MEYER

CONTACT ARTIST TO PURCHASE PAT@MEYER.NET 11 X 14 OIL ON LINEN Had a challenge to name this painting and Suzy Skeen called it Spring Tease.  In the middle of all the cold weather we have been having these little Pansies are teasing us with their fresh Spring look. They kept dancing around in the pot like they were just teasing me to paint them on this 9 degree snowy day. www.PatMeyer-artist.com Signature Member Artist of Texas, Oil Painters of America, Outdoor Painters Society

"Spring at The DeGolyer" by Kyle Wood

"Spring at The DeGolyer" (Dallas Arboretum) 8" x 10" Oil on Canvas by Kyle Wood Spring is one of my favorite seasons of the year and The Dallas Arboretum is such a beautiful place to visit and see during the Spring Months.  Here is my interpretation of the entrance to The DeGolyer Estate. Working from photo references I took a few years ago, I painted up a small painting, focusing on the the door, vegetation, shadows, and light around the doorway.  For more color interested, I added some blooming Bougainvillea, which is typically found growing on the walls of many Spanish Courtyards.  The blooming Bougainvillea seemed appropriate for the Spanish Colonial Revival Style Home that was built in 1940.   Enjoy! Hollyhocks: "Black Tie"

30x22 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper with Daniel Smith paints.  I grew several black hollyhocks outside my studio door but no blooms this year thanks to the drought.  In my photo the bloom is more dark blood red, but with this one I've gone to the dark side and have pushed color, exaggerating where necessary. Petunia Patch

15x22 watercolor on Italia acquerello 140 lb cold press finished today. Using one of many petunia photos taken in April during our plein air garden trips, this one was hard to get going as it is a light/midtone with not that many darks. I might have to go back in and glaze here and there but for the most part this daily painting is done. It is full of discreet abstract shapes of wilted blooms and twisted leaves if you look closely.  Email me kay1971smith@aol.com for more information or visit my blog to purchase via PayPal, credit card, or personal checks http://kaysmithbrushworks.blogspot.com

Day Lilies by Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"Day Lilies" portrait of a young woman in her floppy garden hat, among her beloved day lilies. This sweet young lady was a joy to paint. Spring came so early this year. I'm not complaining about the early blooms, bird songs, green grass, and pleasant weather. I'm just worried about a hotter summer than I care to imagine, which would not be a good thing for Texas which is still suffering from the devastating drought of last summer. Lets pray the lilies bloom long, the birds stay full of song, and the rivers and lakes stay full of much craved rain fall. Thank you for reading my blog. For prices, more of my work, or other information, please visit my blog at: srcartavenue.blogspot.com or contact me at: sandrasart777@aol.com. Blessings, Sandra Reeves Cutrer
