Saddle by Suzy Pal Powell

I have worked a long time trying to get my saddle just right! here are some of the steps. I forgot to get the first drawing but you can still tell.  I finally got my acrylic paint out and painted some of it. I like the way it turned out using both, Magazine pages as well as acrylic. It is 18x24 on stretched canvas.  Finished...other than the varnish.

Lubbock TX arts Festival by Suzy Pal Powell

Two pieces of my art was accepted in the gallery at the Lubbock Arts Festival. It is open to the public April 16-17. The juror is Paul Milosevich of Santa Fe, NM. This is 22x28 Watercolor, that I poured. There is not a lot of brush work on it.  My favorite... Western Art! This is ' Work Day', using photos I took when our neighbor was branding. The second piece is a torn paper collage of an old Woodie. It is on a stretched canvas and is:   'Woodie'

Three Crosses by Suzy Pal Powell

This is a pencil I did from all the photos I took at our neighbor's branding. To me the belt buckle really stood out, and so that is why I wanted to name it...'Three Crosses'. I think I have some tweaking to do yet, It is funny how you see it when it is on the monitor.  I think I need to get darker in some places.  I still love to do a pencil drawing once in a while.
