I wondered how we still relate to the Hippocrates’ Humors --air, fire, water and earth. How do we live in balance? Relating these thoughts to Biodynamic agriculture, which is piece of land—and all it contains as a living organism- from crops to farmer, fields to streams, what do we, as creative thinkers, make of these notions? On an island with the oil first began to pour into the gulf then from an airplane, I saw thick pink ribbons of oil streaming into the ocean while toy like Lego tankers were dwarfed by the scale of the gushing oil. I began to mull over our notions of water. We all say that waterways are living things; entire worlds live within the banks of a river, the shores of a lake, the beaches of our seas.
