This has been a week of finishing things around the house. Terry rebuilt the front of the fireplace with stone. Yes, I need to post images!  We are working on the backyard and waiting for trees that cannot be delivered due to rain,  Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.  The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God liv...

Since the piles o' red paint were in abundance, I could not deny my need to keep right on painting in this cheerful, warm color, on these cold winter nights! I'll be featuring this new work, along with some action pug photos in the snow in my newsletter next week. Today I'm finishing up a 36X24 poppy, and tomorrow I have a poppy commission to create so brace yourself - more poppies will be blooming very soon! Sign up for my art newsletter! Crazy Love Poppies by Nancy Medina 12X12 Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Crazy Love is the song that's been traveling around in my head all day. If I make it the name of my newest painting, maybe it will give me a rest! I remember a song called Crazy Love when I was young, I thought it was by Toto, but when I googled it today to find the lyrics, it's not appearing anywhere. It's enough to make me just a little....crazy!

Poppies in Red and White by Nancy Medina 11X14 Oil on Cradled Panel Purchase Information Flower Painting Workshops Nancy Medina Web Site Poppies in Red and White is the newest small work, another painting completed in my Mom's kitchen amidst the laughter, noise, cooking, favorite taped programs, barking, and general hubbub of my family's life. I love spending time with Mom on the farm, it is such an escape from the city. Her home is on 15 acres, mostly filled with ancient oak trees, and stepping into her back yard after dark is a dream come true for anyone who loves to see stars. And it's true, the stars really are big and bright just a bit due east of the Heart of Texas...!

Poppy Field by Sheri Jones 8x10 oil on canvas This was inspired from a photo I took in the Fredricksburg area one spring afternoon. This was a field of wild poppies and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was such a treat to find this natural garden in the middle of the country. I created this with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. This painting is available for purchase. $125.00 Sheri@sheriart.net sheriart.net sheriart.blogspot.com
