Artists Of Texas Contemporary Paintings and Art

This is another in my series of aspen paintings. It is my first winter scene This canvas is quite thick (almost 3") gallery wrap..

Oil on Canvas 18 x 24 Artist: Anna Payne The earth colors of the Texas Hillcountry are unique. I was interested in painting these subdued colors with more intensity but wanted to capture the sweeping horizon as it recedes in subtle shades. The actual sky in the painting is a much livelier hue of violet. I liked the way the trees lean into the hill. Intersting lines. Annapayne.com SkyDanceStudio@yahoo.com Annapayneart.blogspot.com

Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas 20 X 24 I especially liked painting this scene after the dry, colorless summer we have had in Texas. Even though we look across a dry Texas landscape these days , we know in the soil lies the seeds--waiting --for a little rain to bring forth spectacular natural beauty. A very colorful painting that I tried to use my brightest colors in. To anyone who has been in the southwest, this piece should not seem over the top. Visitors and residents are frequently treated to these magnificent spectacles.

I just lack a few tweaks in the foreground and I am done.

Finished and signed. Hooray!
