Art Therapy Post 1 I've been sharing one of my paintings a day through the duration of the COVID-19 shutdown. I hope other artists will follow. A lot of us have been or are starting to have real anxiety about the multitude of difficulties we are and will be facing because of this crisis. I believe beauty is important right now. It is for my sanity anyway. Time to Go Acrylic on Panel | 6” x 6” by Rebecca Zook Grasses of green turn to tan. Nature’s warm breath cools and her skies beckon birds to take flight. Migration begins. 24x36 Oil on canvas After what turned out to be a busy summer it is nice to pick up a paintbrush again!  Enjoyed playing with colors and distance.   www.juliewileman.com

SUNSET AFTERGOW is inspired by Maui and all the beach walks I did there at sunset. The soft and romantic colors are wonderful at this time of evening. How I miss that part of island life. I always fine soft high key colors difficult to portray in my art, so this was a challenge.                                   This image is unframed and measures 8" x 10".                                                                 $150 plus S/H           ...

I felt like a change and decided on a coastal scene this time. I wanted a dramatic sky and bold colors. I had a different shaped piece of Colorfix mauve paper, and thought, why not?                                             This image is 6.5" x 19.5" unframed.                                                            $200 plus S/H                         This image...

I guess I felt a need for a completely different genre, so here goes nothing. This is a scene from my walks on Sugar Beach Maui. It's a long beach and great to stretch my legs. I just love to watch the waves, and the way the light plays on the top of the crests. A seascape needs to be studied at length before painting it, after all, it's never still for us, and photos simply don't do it justice. They flatten the light and dull down the colors. Having said that, this is a composite from my photos, and a lot is from memory, an impression, that's what I was aiming for. I hope you like it.                                                   This image is 9" x 25" unfarmed.           ...

16x20 oil on canvas This peaceful scene was captured in New England, though it could be found in any farming area of the country.  Beautiful colors at the end of the day when the activity is winding down. Thank you for looking! www.juliewileman.com jbwileman@gmail.com I am happy to announce that I have 3 pieces in an upcoming show!  If you are in the area, check it out and see a lot of wonderful art!
